Tamar S. Snyder is an award-winning journalist who specializes in entrepreneurship, personal finance, education, and philanthropy. She worked for several years as a philanthropy reporter for The Jewish Week, where she conceived of the idea for the "36 Under 36" section - an annual special section highlighting young Jews who are re-envisioning Jewish life in the arts, education, philanthropy, and other arenas. Tamar received a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Her work has appeared in The Wall Street JournalInc. Magazine, Edutopia, the Staten Island AdvanceAOL, and other publications. She is a recipient of the 2008 Simon Rockower Award for Excellence in Jewish Journalism
